In the midst of skepticism surrounding Ubisoft, XDefiant emerged as a game-changer. This fast-paced first-person shooter, which has undergone various tests on PC, both closed and open, aims to take on Call of Duty. While a confirmed release date is still pending, Ubisoft has brought some exciting news today.
Ubisoft officially announced that XDefiant will launch a PC beta tomorrow. This public beta session is a chance to get hands-on experience with the culmination of Ubisoft’s hard work over the past months.
The brevity of the beta may surprise some. If you’re not yet acquainted with XDefiant, it’s a high-energy first-person shooter centered around faction-based combat. Ubisoft is stepping into the FPS arena with XDefiant, and this has raised some skepticism among players. However, following the first open beta, many players have noticed that, for the first time in a while, Ubisoft seems to be on the right track. The development team behind the title has shown its dedication to fine-tuning the game through a series of updates during its development.
As a result of this progress, the XDefiant team has decided to offer players another chance to try the game. This Public Test Session (PTS) is scheduled for September 28th, running from 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET to 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET. However, despite XDefiant’s planned release on consoles as well as PC, this Public Test Session will be exclusive to PC. This decision has sparked some discontent among gamers, but the development team has provided their rationale.
In the PTS announcement, the development team mentioned, “The PTS will be a great opportunity for additional feedback before launch to help us continue to make the best experience possible. See you then!” It’s important to note that the PTS will be limited to a six-hour duration. However, it’s expected that more open betas or an extension of this beta will be offered in the coming months. If you’d like to participate in the beta, you can register here. If selected, you will have the opportunity to pre-download the game in advance.
